I’m Samuel, a rapper/singer/producer from West Chester PA (raised in Allentown PA).

I know. Not many people do all three. But I did put a lot of time into pursuing them one by one. At some point, I wasn’t doing any. But those were the eight years I was teaching myself piano before I decided to take up beatmaking. A year later, I decided beatmaking wasn’t enough, so I started rapping and then singing. All of these were just hobbies to me until I decided that the money I saved up for 13 months was enough to take that courageous step out of my mom’s house and move into another city – West Chester, Pennsylvania – to invest in a personal recording studio.

A one-man team, I have dropped five studio EPs: Abundance, Scarcity (both in 2016), Nirvana (2017), Samsara, and Letters (both in 2018). My rapping is influenced by Kendrick Lamar and OutKast, my singing is influenced by Owl City and Thom Yorke, and my production is influenced by Skrillex and Dream Theater. Lyrically, I write a lot on the topic of self-growth, trying to do so from a perspective of high intelligence. However, I try to compose/produce through the eyes of a young wide-eyed boy, astounded by the universe surrounding him.

MISSION

It has been said that Western Civilization is a loaded gun pointed at the head of this planet. If this is the case, I'd argue that the first bullet to be shot out of Western Civilization is its own culture. I believe with every fiber of my being that not only is our culture more focused on self-doubt than self-growth, but that the consequences of letting this continue might be, for lack of a better word, dystopian.

I believe that the biggest problems in the world at this moment in time can be solved from within each of us. As the influence of culture grows in reach and the internet creates a global society, SOMETHING needs to happen on our part. Because the more I look around, the more I learn, the more I'm starting to think that a solar system of growth and change is what we are ultimately meant for. But I see so much doubt in that, because of how culture has raised so many of us to think and feel.

In the beginning of my song Fan, I say "We are on the cusp of something greater than ourselves." That something is quite great. It's so great, in fact, that we have no option but to welcome it with open arms.

My mission is to make self-growth normal, and I can't and won't do it alone.
